Legal Notice – City Council Public Hearing

LEGAL NOTICE

CITY OF OBERLIN, OHIO

OBERLIN CITY COUNCIL

PUBLIC HEARING

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 929.02 of the Ohio Revised Code, the Oberlin City Council shall conduct a public hearing on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, Oberlin City Hall, located at 85 South Main Street, Oberlin, Ohio to consider the Oberlin Planning Commission’s recommendation concerning a petition submitted by Ann Kiernozek and Tina Kimbrough on behalf of the Nord Family Foundation. The petition seeks to amend the Zoning Map designation for the properties at 240 South Main Street and 285 South Professor Street from “R-1” Single-Family Dwelling District to “I” Institutional District. This zoning change is proposed to facilitate the establishment of a new non-profit organization in the former Oberlin Community Service building at 285 South Professor Street.

While there are no immediate development plans, this rezoning will align the properties with the Institutional District’s regulations, which support uses typically associated with educational, cultural, and community-oriented institutions. Additionally, the proposed amendment is consistent with the recently adopted Comprehensive Plan and Future Land Use Map

Should you require any further information, please contact the Oberlin Clerk of Council’s Office, at 85 South Main Street, Oberlin, Ohio during regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)  telephone number (440) 775-7203.
