Code enforcement helps to keep Oberlin clean, safe and welcoming for residents and visitors.  Enforcement relates to regulations outlined in the International Property Maintenance Code and the City of Oberlin Codified Ordinances.

Code enforcement includes the following areas:

  • Property and yard maintenance issues
  • Fair Housing issues
  • Issues concerning the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • Rooming House inspections and complaints
  • Public safety complaints concerning public areas, sidewalks and abandoned structures
  • Demolition of blighted structures
