Utilities
The Finance Department is responsible for billing, collection, and customer service for approximately 3,000 accounts with the following services: Electric, Water, Sewer, and Refuse. The Customer Service office is located on the first floor of the Old City Hall Building, at 69 S. Main Street. Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday.
Meters are read and customers are billed monthly. Payments can be made online at cityofoberlin.com, mailed to the above address or made at the cashier’s window during business hours. There is a drive-up box in the rear parking lot of the building, near the mail boxes, and drop box on the south side of our building. PAYMENTS CAN BE PLACED IN OUR SECURE DROP BOX.
Utility service – to apply for utility service, you may apply in person at our office at 69 S. Main Street, or through the convenience of our drop boxes. If applying in person, please bring in all of the following items:
- A copy of your current photo ID.
- A completed utility application packet (blank packets are available both online or next to the drop box on the south side of our building.)
- A security deposit (please call our office to determine the amount required.)
If utilizing the drop boxes, please include all of the above items in an envelope (envelopes are available next to our drop box on the south side of the building.)
