The Playground Experience program is the Recreation Office’s largest summer camp, with children split into age groups: 4-5, 6-7, 8-9 and 10-12. Each group has assigned staff members responsible for their activities. Campers will enjoy a variety of activities, such as, but not limited to, arts & crafts, board games, playground games, dance & rhythmic movement, bowling, and swimming.

Registered Playground Experience participants will swim at Splash Zone each Friday . Please have your child wear their swimsuit under their clothing and place the rest of their things in a labeled bag. Please put names on towels. The bus will leave at 10:10 a.m. Kids who miss the bus will remain at the OEAC with Playground staff until we return. Please be on time for all site activities. We will not transport late participants. Kids are not permitted to use the vending machines while at Splash Zone.

The Playground Experience program, in partnership with Ohio Summer Food Program, offers a free nutritious bag lunch for all camp participants who would like to eat lunch.

Playground Experience will be closed on the following dates: July 4 and July 24 is last day of the program (Annual Cedar Point Trip).

In an effort to increase the safety of the children in recreation programming, the City and the Recreation Department is implementing procedures for sign-in campers when they arrive to camp  and the releasing of campers at the end of each camp/program day. The Procare system is the program that parents/guardians use to sign children in and out of the program. For more information about the Release of Child Procedures, please feel free to contact someone in the Recreation Department at 440-775-7254.

Inappropriate Behavior: Bullying and inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. All incidents witnessed by or reported to staff will be handled as quickly and as fairly as possible. Depending on the circumstances, participants may lose privileges or be withdrawn from the program as a result of breaking rules. Fighting will result in immediate removal from the program.
