Community Energy Savings: Smart Thermostat Program

The City of Oberlin, through its partnership with AMP, is participating in the Community Energy Savings Program,
which is designed to help reduce energy use during times of high electric demand and lower energy costs for the
community.  As part of this program, OMLPS customers with eligible smart thermostats may enroll in the
Smart Thermostat Program to allow small, temporary adjustments to be made to their thermostats during
times of high demand. Enrolled customers may opt out at any time. 

Customers who enroll in the program will receive a $55 e-gift card! (Pre-Paid Master Card)
Customers who stay enrolled will also be entered into a drawing for a chance to win an additional
$250 e-gift card at the end of each summer season!

Food Waste Composting Program Giveaway 

Residents participating in the City's Food Waste Composting Program can receive compost from the food waste collected in the program! To receive compost, please bring a truck or suitable container on Saturday, May 18th from 9AM-1PM behind the Wastewater Treatment Plant on St. Rt. 511. Those not yet participating in the program can sign up onsite and receive compost at the giveaway.  Limit 2 cubic yards.

2024 Safety Town

The Oberlin Police Department will offer Safety Town sessions this summer for children entering Kindergarten in Fall 2024. Safety Town is a FREE program, but prior registration is required. Applications are available at the Oberlin Police Department or Oberlin Elementary School.

2 Sessions Available to Choose From: June 10-14 or June 17-21
Both sessions from 10AM-1PM at the Oberlin Elementary School

Mosquito Control Program

Residents may pick up Mosquito Control Briquettes for FREE from the Public Works Department. The briquettes work in standing water only and prevent mosquito larvae from maturing to adulthood. For educational materials and/or Mosquito Control Briquettes, visit the Public Works Department (85 S. Main St.) or call 440-775-7218.
