The City Council meets at 7:00 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of the month. Meetings of the City Council are open to the public. You are encouraged to participate in your local government by attending a City Council meeting. The public may speak about items on the agenda, or a matter that is not on the agenda, during the periods of Public Participation at these meetings. Currently there are two such opportunities per meeting — one prior to new business and one near the end of the meeting. Citizens are asked to state their name and address for the record and may speak to City Council for up to three minutes. Regular Council meetings are televised on Cable Co-op Channel 9.
Council minutes and records are open to public inspection in the City Clerk’s Office and on the City website. Correspondence to Council may be addressed to Oberlin City Hall, 85 South Main St., Oberlin, OH 44074. Telephone: (440) 775-7203.
In addition to attending City Council meetings, the public may communicate your specific interests with the City of Oberlin in a variety of ways: You may want to consider contacting the City Department directly and speaking with staff members that are here to assist you with your questions and comments. Most City offices are open for business weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
