The Building and Grounds Division performs routine maintenance, repair and improvement of the City’s buildings and grounds.  The facilities at Westwood Cemetery on Morgan St. serve as the primary storage, maintenance and workshop areas from which staff maintains and operates our beautiful 47-acre cemetery and our extensive park system.  B&G supports the Recreation Division by preparing the City’s baseball/softball and soccer fields for play and assists during special events such as Fourth of July, the 5k Earth Day Run, Juneteenth, Chalk Walk, Vintage Days/Family Fun Fair and many others.  B&G works with downtown stakeholders to enhance and beautify the Central Business District.  In cooperation with Oberlin Municipal Light and Power, B&G is responsible for planting, pruning and removing curb lawn trees throughout the community.

City owned parks are open from dawn to dusk. Permission to use parks for special event can be obtained by filling out a Park request form.
